ABOUT Dorothy

Dorothy Walsh Ripka doesn’t just practice family law, she lives and breathes it. With over two decades of relentless dedication to her craft, Dorothy is not just an attorney; she’s a passionate advocate committed to crafting innovative legal strategies tailored to each client’s unique situation.

As a seasoned litigator with over twenty-four years of experience, Dorothy thrives in the heat of high-conflict and complex family law matters. Licensed in six states, her expertise is sought after across the nation, but her heart lies in the Denver Metropolitan area, where she has honed her skills and built a reputation for excellence.

Throughout her career, Dorothy has not only represented her clients with compassion and determination but has also served as a beacon of knowledge and mentorship for fellow attorneys. Her commitment to education and leadership shines through in her role as a Litigation Partner at a national family law firm, where she spent twenty-one years shaping the next generation of legal minds.

Dorothy’s journey to becoming a powerhouse in family law began with a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from St. Louis University. Her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, obtained with high honors, from the University of Illinois-Springfield, adds a unique perspective to her legal practice, enriching her understanding of human behavior and emotions in the courtroom. Dorothy was a nationally ranked tennis player while attending University of Illinois Springfield and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015.

I have a passion for what I do, and am strengthened by the opportunities to be an advocate for my clients. I approach each case with a creative and individualized litigation strategy.  It is my obligation to both prepare to litigate as well as settle a case based upon my client’s personalized goals and needs.

Her approach to each case is not just strategic; it’s deeply personal. Dorothy understands that every client’s story is different, and she approaches each challenge with creativity and empathy, ensuring that her clients’ goals and needs are at the forefront of every decision.

When she’s not navigating the complexities of family law, you’ll find Dorothy on the tennis court, where her competitive spirit still burns bright. Off the court, she cherishes moments with her husband, daughter, and loyal canine companion, finding balance and joy in both her professional and personal pursuits.
